The Struggle Of Opiates

So Much Beauty, So Much Heartache!

For thousands of years the beautiful poppy plant has graced our wonderful Earth with it’s presence. The poppy plant is used for many uses including such things as latex, them wonderful seeds we all love on our sandwich buns as well as medications and recreational drugs otherwise called opiates.

The Facts

Poppies are best known for their symbolism as sleep, peace and death. The opium extracted from them causes a nice relaxed deep sleep because it is a sedative. Death is due in part to the blood-red color of the poppy plant. Poppies are used in the movie The Wizard of Oz in a magical poppy field to make the protagonist sleep forever. It is no shock that poppies also adorn tombstones symbolizing eternal sleep. According to 49,068 deaths occurred in 2017 (provisional data) Included in this number are opioid analgesics, along with heroin and illicit synthetic opioids (

The Message

It seems the message is quite clear; the wonder drug is a very bad drug. I once heard someone say, “to much of a good thing is a bad thing”. Several years later I found out what that actually meant. There is one more quote that I wish to share and that is, “Depression Hurts”. So Do we still need opiates? Yes, they have their place. But do we need as much? We really hope not.

I will be adding a affiliate link. Yes, I do make a few cents off of any sales made from anyone clicking the link. It costs you nothing extra and helps me keep this blog running. I am a FIRM believer in the product as well as a customer of the product and use it every day of the week.

Where Am I headed With This?

I have been suffering a very bad back for years and years. It has caused a whole bunch of health issues for me. The most detrimental one was a weight issue and depression. The weight issue caused knee issues, hip issues, and a slew of other issues. Opiates were a fact of life. Ibuprofen 800 was not an option as it was not working. I tried many other things and it did not work either. The worse the depression got, the worse the pain got. So now what?

Surgery That’s What!

In March of 2018, my neurosurgeon installed a Boston Scientific Spinal Cord Stimulator as well as did a lumbar L5/S1 fusion in August of 2018. Surgery really did the trick for me. No more sciatica! However, my hips hurt, my knees hurt, shoulders, not to mention my every day arthritis. It looked like opiates were a fact of life I was going to live with like it or not. I hate living on opiates. They cause so many issues like GI tract shutting down, urinary tract shutting down, so many other issues including death. Man alive I got to have me some of that! No!

Am I stuck?

A medical marijuana card was not an option for me for reasons beyond my control and reasons I will not discuss in this blog. What I will discuss is one option that came along that is perfectly legal and that is CBD Oil. Oh here we go! Another CBD Oil post. Wait Wait! I know. I tried many brands and they are still in my drawer collecting dust bunnies. This new brand I use is not bad tasting and actually works for me.

What It Does Not Do

Now before I begin to tell you how well this has worked for me let me tell you one thing and that one thing is, this is not a miracle cure. It will not cure all ailments. Anyone who says it does is full of bologna. I have heard people say this will cure addiction, this will make you get up and walk if paralyzed, etc. Nope. Not even close. Meds are still a daily part of my life but I can tell you this, opiates are very far and few in between now.

So What Did It Do For Me?

What it did do for me was make my arthritis hurt a lot less. My hips hurt a lot less. My knees hurt less. Notice a trend here? Another trend, I went from 6 Norco 325/10 a day down to 2 a day then down to 4 or 5 a week now on a bad week I take 2 or 3. For me that in and of itself is miraculous. Let me add this little kicker, they even have vape pens to give a little kicker through the day if needs be!

In Conclusion

Do I recommend this product? Well, yes obviously 100%. I am a daily user. I have a YouTube video of my review of it as well comparing it to another product that I am sure is collecting dust in a drawer by now. Does this product work? Yes! Well, for me it does. As with all products that deal with the human body, your mileage may vary. This product is a supplement. As with all products of this type, you should consult a Dr first as it may adversely react with a medication you are taking. If you would, please scroll back up and READ AND UNDERSTAND my disclaimer.
